Le Labo Releases Tonka 25, First New Scent in Three Years

BEIJING–After a three year gap, New York perfumery Le Labo, known for making hits like Santal 33 and Rose 31, has a new scent soon available to consumers on Oct. 15.
Called Tonka 25, the fragrance is described as dark and woody with a subtle hint of sweetness, evoking "the smell of warm skin and resinous wood," the company said. "Notes include orange flower absolute, cedar atlas, styrax resins, and absolute tonka to define an intriguing olfactive experience."
As for why it took so long for the company to release a new fragrance, Le Labo co-founder Eddie Roschi said, "creating a new scent is an incredibly complicated and subjective process, and it requires a lot of self-reflection. Creating something that is original yet balanced takes a lot of time to be ready. When we finally find and shape something beautiful, we are so excited to share it – we can’t wait for people to discover Tonka 25."
Founded in 2006, Le Labo was bought by Estee Lauder in 2014. It counts over 40 stand alone stores and is stocked in over 60 counters worldwide.
