This Costco Easter Egg Cake Will Be the Star of Your Easter Meal

There’s a lot going on in the world right now, but if there’s one thing we can be certain of, it’s the dependability of Costco. Sure, they’ve had to change some things about their usual operations — they’ve changed their store hours and modified their food court menu — but they’re still our go-to store. This year, they’re really coming through in a clutch by saving our Easter. Not only can you get a Costco Easter Dinner delivered to your house this year so you don’t have to worry about baking a ham and all of the fixings on your own, but they’re also selling a show-stopping dessert that will save you tons of time in the kitchen while still satisfying your sweet tooth. It’s an Easter Egg Layer Cake, and it’ll definitely steal the show.

The cake is made by Brooklyn-based Junior’s. It’s shaped like a giant Easter egg, and when you slice into it layers of decadent dark chocolate cake are revealed. Sandwiched between the cake are ribbons of fluffy white chocolate mousse and clouds of chocolate mousse. Then, the whole thing is draped in a chocolate ganache, and drizzled with pastel stripes and ribbons that give it the look of your most prized decorated Easter Egg.

Providing a festive dessert is especially helpful at a time when we’re all rationing our flour, eggs, and sugar. Costco sources the cake for you, so you don’t have to worry about depleting your fridge and pantry of staple ingredients to make dessert.

If you have a big family, good news. The cake weighs in at a whopping two pounds, so there’s bound to be plenty for everyone. And if you’re dining alone? Even better! you’ll be able to have a slice of rich chocolate layer cake for dessert every night for a week (or maybe more, depending on your definition of a slice!). Signing up for a Costco membership never tasted so good.

It isn’t clear if this cake is available at all Costco warehouses yet, but if it is in yours, you can get your Costco Easter Egg cake for $16.98. At two pounds of cake, mousse, and chocolate, I think we can call it the deal of a lifetime.
