Watch This Bodybuilder Try to Eat The Rock’s Entire Cheat Day Menu
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is famously rigorous in his training regime, especially over the last year while packing on muscle to prepare for Black Adam. But while he frequently posts insights and outtakes from his workouts in the Iron Paradise six days a week, Johnson has also become known for his epic cheat day meals, which he gorges on each Sunday.
In a new video on his YouTube channel, fitness influencer Aseel Soueid (who regularly tries out the workouts and diet plans of buff celebs, from Arnold Schwarzenegger to LeBron James), spends the day eating like The Rock on cheat day.
Meal number one is one of Johnson’s favorites: a stack of French toast with banana, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup and melted peanut butter, consisting of 1,735 calories. Soueid can’t eat the entire thing as he has Type 1 diabetes, but he is a huge fan of the recipe, and says it would be incredibly easy to make a lower-calorie, healthier, high-protein version of this dish by substituting a few ingredients.
Next up is a box of cookies, because apparently Johnson counts his cheat days as a failure if he hasn’t had some, and then Soueid heads to the gym. His post-workout meal is another staple in Johnson’s cheat day diet: sushi. Specifically, three containers of dragon roll, tiger roll, and spicy mango tuna roll, totaling 1,430 calories.
At the end of the day, Johnson’s meals amount to 3,545 calories, comprising 409 grams of carbs, 187 grams of fat, and 96 grams of protein—and Soueid counts it as among the more enjoyable of his recent challenges. “As The Rock always says; treat yourself, don’t cheat yourself,” he says.
