The Underrated Costco Products You're Not Buying, But Should

Tap on the shoulder of any person in Costco and ask them their favorite product, and you’ll undoubtedly hear a cult classic like rotisserie chicken or bacon crumbles. There are simply certain products everyone who shops at the wholesale grocery warehouse seems to default to when asked for a rave review. But what about the lesser-known gems? There are just as many underrated Costco products as there are cult classics — and they’re just lying in wait on one of those giant industrial metal shelves, waiting for you to discover them.

When it comes to Costco, we can all agree that it’s one of the most important relationships an adult can have, right? Where else can you buy both a lifetime supply of cheese and a six-pack of cozy socks at the same time? Who’s going to offer moral support in the form of a $1.50 hot dog meal, if not Costco? So, like any healthy relationship, you should nurture it. Get to know everything you can about it. And that definitely means taking the time to appreciate all that it has to offer.

We’ve combed through countless reviews from the good people of the internet, combined them with our own experiences, and come up with a list of underrated Costco products you probably aren’t buying but should put on your shopping list ASAP. Enjoy!

Kirkland Signature Organic Almond Beverage

If you’re buying almond milk somewhere else, well, stop. Costco has organic, no sugar added, vanilla almond milk that tastes delicious. Plus, we like the 32 oz. size (it’s a 6-pack), because they’re easy to take to work and stash in the office fridge.

Kirkland Signature Whole Dried Blueberries

To be fair, all of Costco’s dried fruit is pretty amazing. But we’re particularly partial to the this big ol’ resealable bag of blueberries. Get you some, and toss these little beauties in everything from your cereal to your salads and even pancake batter.

Kirkland Signature Jelly Belly Variety Pack

Why, yes. Yes you can buy a veritable vat of Jelly Belly jellybeans at Costco. And it’ll set you back less than 20 bucks. You can thank us later.

Reser’s Main Street Mashed Potatoes

Shh, come close… let us tell you a secret. These all-natural mashed potatoes you can score at Costco can easily pass for homemade, homestyle mashed potatoes — the kind your mama used to make (unless she had a Costco membership, too).

Kirkland Signature Pure Sea Salt

We all know by now that sea salt is better for you than run-of-the-mill table salt, right? Well, this kosher sea salt from Costco is harvested from pristine waters off of Brazil’s northern coast and, best part, it’s less than $3.

DJ&A Shiitake Mushroom Crisps

Say hello to your new favorite savory snack! These shiitake mushroom crisps are lightly cooked and seasoned, so they’re ready to pop in your mouth. Fair warning: A whole bag goes doesn awfully easy.

Pure Organic Layered Fruit Bars

Like Fruit By the Foot’s more mature but still totally cool older cousin, these layered fruit bars make fantastic grab-and-go snacks. And they’re vegan-friendly, to boot!

Snapdragon Vietnamese Pho Bowls

There’s never a bad time for pho — who’s with us? At Costco, you can get this nine-count pack of authentic pho rice noodles imported from Vietnam for a steal. At this price, you can experiment with different recipes and make everyone in your office think you’re a brilliant foodie.

Kirkland Signature Supreme Whole Almonds

You guys, it’s a three-pound bag of almonds. Three pounds. That’s, like, a teacup poodle’s worth of this delicious, wholesome snack. Keep one of these in your car, and you’ll never go hungry again.

Golden Island Korean BBQ Pork Jerky

Are you a fan of Korean BBQ? Um, hello, trick question — everyone’s a fan of Korean BBQ. Which means you’ll all be happy to know that this fire-grilled pork jerky snack exists, obviously.

Inno Foods Organic Coconut Clusters

Brownie Brittle gets all the fanfare when it comes to Costco’s sweet snacks, but we contend that these yummy clusters should be in the limelight. Not only do they have toasted coconut (enough to sell us on its own), but they also pack a nutritious punch with super seeds like pumpkin, sunflower and chia.

Olive Garden Signature Italian Dressing

Anyone who’s ever partaken of Olive Garden’s endless salad knows the best part is their Signature Italian Dressing. Now you can buy it in a two-pack from Costo! So, all you need is a basket of breadsticks and friendly sommelier to make your home feel like a trip to your favorite restaurant.

Bamboo Lane Organic Crunchy Rice Rollers

You might have passed right by these bad boys because you didn’t realize what they were. So, we’re here to help you understand the error of your ways. Lightly sweetened with cane sugar, these crunchy rice rollers make for an irresistible snack. They’re low-carb, low-cal, and light enough that they won’t make you feel weighed down. However, they’re still 100-percent satisfying.

Kirkland Signature Flex-Tech 13-Gallon Scented Kitchen Trash Bags

Yep, we had to sneak one household item onto the list. Here’s the deal, though: For less than $14, you can get a whopping 200 trash bags. And these aren’t just any trash bags. For starters, the “fresh scent” is pleasant enough to keep odors at bay for a week. Plus, they’re reinforced so the strong won’t break (worst thing ever), and they expand with traash so you can really pack it in.

Kirkland Signature Organic Green Tea

If you drink green tea (and you should, ’cause it’s excellent for your health), you need to make the switch to Costco’s massive box of green tea. An organic blend of sencha and matcha, it’s ideal for hot and cold brewing. And you get 100 tea bags, so one box will last for-ev-er.
