Hoda Kotb And Leah Remini Just Responded To J.Lo's '10-Day Challenge'

Quick Q: If Jennifer Lopez challenged you to try a diet with her, would you do it?

Turns out, that’s a hard question to answer…for anyone. Yesterday, J.Lo (and her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez) challenged a few of their close friends to do their “10-day challenge” by cutting out sugar and carbs from their diets—and they have some concerns.

First up: J.Lo’s BFF Leah Remini. Leah responded to A.Rod’s post yesterday in the comments section. “No I’m not up for it,” she wrote. “Gonna go eat now…maybe a plate of pasta, some cookies, but you all enjoy ;).”

So, Leah’s out. But Hoda Kotb—another one of J.Lo’s friends—seemed intrigued (along with a few of her TODAY show colleagues). Carson Daly brought up J.Lo’s challenge to Hoda during a TODAY show segment.

“First of all, I’m excited and I want to do it,” Hoda responded. “I think if y’all are my friends…we should all do this together…and once we do it, we will challenge someone else.”

Hoda went on to explain the specifics to her TODAY coanchors: Carson, Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie, and Craig Melvin. The challenge is to cut out sugar, carbs, and caffeine for 10 whole days. The group seemed down for the challenge—as long as they could have a special stipulation to keep drinking caffeine (apparently Hoda’s checking with Jennifer on that request and will report back).

Hoda also brought up the challenge during her segment later on with Jenna Bush Hager. “Would you do it?” Hoda asked—to which Jenna replied with “No.”

It’s definitely not a simple challenge—even J.Lo and A.Rod are struggling with it. J.Lo took to Instagram Stories Tuesday to talk about how hard it is to cut both sugar and carbs out of her diet.

“So it turns out, when you don’t have sugar and you don’t have carbs, you’re really really hungry all the time,” she said. “So we’re trying to figure out a lot of good snacks,” she added. (Just FYI: J.Lo did end up finding some good snacks, including sliced cucumbers, yellow peppers, red peppers, green beans, sugar-free Jell-O, and tuna.

A.Rod voiced his own struggles: “I’m on the second day of this 10-day challenge, it seemed like a great idea when I challenged all of you,” he said in an Instagram Story. “I have had eggs and avocado today. I’m dying.”
