A Charcuterie Wreath Will Be the Centerpiece of Your Christmas Table
It doesn’t matter what holiday or celebration you’re planning for, a charcuterie board is always a safe (and delicious) option for the table. It gives people the ability to build their own perfect cheese and meat bite while grazing at their own pace. To make the classic appetizer more festive, you can hop on the charcuterie wreath trend that will add some Christmas spirit to the board.
Just like any charcuterie board, you’ll want to gather your favorite crackers, cheeses, like cheddar, gouda, and mozzarella, and meats, like salami and prosciutto. You’ll also want to add other bites, like grapes, nuts, olives, and cranberries, as well as toppings like honey and jam in separate tiny bowls. In case you haven’t caught on, you’re just taking your usual charcuterie board ingredients and putting them in a circle to look like a wreath. Simple, yet effective.
Instagram accounts are filling the #charcuteriewreath with their creations, so we’ve gathered our favorite tips from their pages for tried and true ways to make your charcuterie wreath even better. Instagram account @bravobaords.stl used triangle cheese to create a ‘bow’ at the top of the wreath; @crumb_and_cow built giant ‘roses out of meat; @cheesesilvousplait turned the cheese into ‘gingerbread men’; and @theboardandthebabe added in some peppermint elements for a sweet and festive touch.
Something they all did? Added plenty of green to the board with leaves and sprigs to mimic a real wreath vibe. You can certainly use a rectangular cutting board to build your creation, but a round one will make the process easier and look cleaner overall.
