"Glass Hair" Is the Latest Celebrity Trend You Need to Try

First, came the “glass skin” Korean-beauty trend, which involved super-smooth, ultra-luminous skin. Now, the concept is taking on a new form: glass hair.

"Glass hair," as originally reported by Refinery29, entails a blunt bob that's glossed to perfection, or at least as close to perfection as possible. There’s something so appealing about this particular combination — a sharp cut and the shininess of the straight, silky smooth texture. It's little surprise it's become such a viral hit on social media, and celebs like Kim Kardashian West, Lucy Hale, and Jourdan Dunn have all tried this look on for size.

Hairstylist Jennifer Yepez was among the first this year to highlight the trend when she posted a snapshot of Hailey Baldwin’s hair on Instagram back in February. To get the reflective look, Yepez used Kérastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Blow Dry Primer, Densifique Densimorphose Hair Mousse, and the Crème Magistrale Mask.

On Instagram, hairstylist and Color Wow ambassador Chris Appleton notes his inspiration for Kardashian West's new lob was “'90s swishy glass hair.” He adds, ”I cut Kim's hair shorter than we've ever done before; just underneath the jawline, keeping the cut blunt with no angle.” He used Color Wow’s Dream Coat Anti-Humidity Treatment then blow-dried using a round bristle brush (we love this large brush from Oribe).
