Watch the Moment Colin Farrell Finished His First-Ever Marathon

Colin Farrell has just completed his first marathon, after reportedly only training for three months. The actor, who was in Australia making a film, was spotted running the Brisbane Marathon on Sunday June 6, and received a hero’s welcome at the finish line, complete with Irish flags.

Australian runner Pat Carroll, who was MCing the event, encouraged the crowd to cheer Farrell on as he approached the end of the marathon—and later posted a video of the moment where Farrell crossed the finish line to his Instagram.

“They had an Irish flag and went to cheer him on as he came across the finish line,” Mr Carroll told NCA NewsWire. “I was talking to his 24/7 security guard while he’s been in Australia. and I asked if we could go a bit crazy when he came down the finish line and he said: ‘okay’ so that’s why we gave him a bit of a reception as he came down the home straight.”

A lot of people got pretty excited. The place came alive,” he continued. “His security guard told me he’d only been running for three months in preparation so it’s not a bad effort… and he did finish running and he looked good as he came down the line.”

Farrell has been filming his next project Thirteen Lives in Queensland. The film, directed by Ron Howard, is a fictionalized retelling of the young soccer team who were trapped in, and subsequently rescued from, the Tham Luang caves in Thailand in 2018.
