Amy Schumer Is Working on a Cooking Show & It Comes Out Soon
It seems like we’ve all been doing two things more than ever lately: cooking (how ’bout that sourdough!), and watching television (there’s a reason why everyone you know has watched Tiger King). With all of this extra time on our hands a lot of people are desperate for new content, and it seems like content creators are anxious to produce it for us — hence, news that comedian Amy Schumer is starting a new Food Network show with her chef husband.
Apparently, the stars really are just like us, and while quarantined, Schumer has finally started learning to cook. Assisting her is husband Chris Fischer, a farm-to-table chef. The duo have been self-filming Schumer’s cooking progress, and now Discovery has announced that they’ll be debuting eight half-hour episodes of Amy Schumer Learns to Cook this spring.
The show promises two things: delicious recipes, and lots of laughs. Fischer will be the one behind most of the recipes you see on the show, while Schumer be the resident bartender. And though Fischer is a pro, don’t worry about his recipes being too complicated for beginners – the show will focus on the types of foods we’re all eating right now, like fridge clean-out dinners, pasta meals, and taco night. Schumer also is using the occasion to call attention to two important issues: farm workers’ rights and domestic violence.
“It is more important than ever to look out for one another, so Chris and I will be making donations to causes dear to us: the Coalition of Immokalee Workers’ Fair Food Program and select domestic violence organizations,” Schumer said in a statement.
The show will be out this spring, and chances are we’ll still be tucked away safe at home throughout the season, and desperate for new television to watch by the time it comes out. A few laughs, a few new recipes, and a killer cocktail or two? You won’t need to convince us to watch!
