Just two days before her milestone birthday on February 2nd, Christie celebrated with friends and family at her birthday bash in a gold sequin minidress and gold pumps. The soirée was hosted by Ultherapy, a non-invasive skin-tightening procedure. (Christie is the face of their new campaign.)

“As I approach this milestone birthday, I look back on all that I’ve learned and the things that have become important to me, not only as a mother and friend, but also as a woman,” Christie said in a press release for the campaign. “For me, it’s not just about the big birthdays–it’s the smaller, more personal moments.”

And she was sure to celebrate those, too. In her Instagram caption, she gave a shout out to her daughter Alexa Ray Joel who serenaded her mom with “Happy Birthday.”

And even though she’s almost 65, Christie probably won’t be retiring the many other factors (other than immaculate genes) that she can credit for her youthful looks, including:

1. Running

“I would say running is my favorite way to sweat, but I’m not really supposed to do that anymore because of injuries,” Christie revealed to The Cut. To go easy on her body, she’ll walk along the beach and move her arms as if she’s swimming, or pick up and carry rocks along the way.

2. Total Gym

Christie told The Cut, she uses the home exercise machine for which she’s a spokeswoman—she’s even developed some of her own moves according to the machine’s website. Even if she’s only got seven minutes, she’ll use the time to go for a quick run on the machine.

3. Tough coaches

To keep those legs toned, Christie also has drill sergeant spin instructors to thank. “I love spin instructors. Yeah, sometimes you need a little drill sergeant to inspire you and keep you going,” she told Women’s Health.

4. Taking to the water

Christie told InStyle, about how she keeps fit with her daughter sailor who loves being outside. “We live by the water, so I’ll kayak and paddleboard with her too,” she explained.

5. A balanced diet

Christie told Women’s Health that she thinks a balanced diet is key. “Even on a low-carb diet, you should be able to like, live it up,” she added.

6. A vegetarian diet

She’s been a vegetarian since she was 13. “I love animals. I do not want to take part in this barbaric system,” she revealed to WH. She also raised her kids to keep away from meat, and she’s got no regrets about it.
