Chipotle's Adobe Chicken Is Now Whole30-Approved
Chipotle gets it; you have a diet to stick to, and you aren’t about to cave three days into the new year just because your Chipotle cravings are at an all-time high. So, to make things a bit easier on dieters who also happen to be die-hard Chipotle-goers, Chipotle has not only adjusted its chicken to make it Whole30 compliant, but they’ve also launched a new Supergreens salad mix and they’re offering free delivery the entire month of January on its Lifestyle Bowls.
Chipotle announced the aforementioned new menu items on Jan. 2. The Supergreens salad mix swaps their previous romaine-only salad base with romaine, baby kale, and baby spinach. As for the chicken, the recipe’s marinade now uses sunflower oil, making it perfect for Whole30 dieters. Whole30 even confirmed in a tweet that same day that Chipotle’s adobo chicken is Whole30-approved. “Perfect timing for your #JanuaryWhole30!” they wrote.
“The new year is a popular time for people to participate in Whole30, so we’re excited that Chipotle’s Lifestyle Bowls continue to take the stress out of healthy eating on-the-go,” Melissa Hartwig Urban, Whole30’s co-founder, said in a statement. “Convenience is key to staying on track, so I worked closely with the culinary team at Chipotle to create three compliant bowls for the Whole30 community.”
Throughout the month of January, Chipotle’s offering free delivery on its Lifestyle Bowls, which launched this time last year and, at the time, included the Whole30 salad bowl (romaine lettuce, carnitas, fajita veggies, tomato salsa, and guacamole), the paleo salad bowl (romaine lettuce, barbacoa, fajita veggies, green salsa, and guacamole), the keto salad bowl (romaine lettuce, carnitas, red salsa, cheese, and guacamole), and the double protein bowl (white rice, black beans, chicken, steak, red salsa, romaine lettuce, and sour cream).
Since, Chipotle has expanded its Lifestyle Bowls menu to include three Whole30 salad bowls (carnitas, carne aside, or chicken), two keto salad bowls (steak or chicken), a high protein bowl (white rice, black beans, full portion of chicken, full portion of steak, tomatillo-red salsa, cheese, and shredded romaine lettuce), a vegan bowl (brown rice, black beans, plant-based Sofritas, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, shredded romaine lettuce), and a vegetarian salad bowl (supergreens, brown rice, black beans, fajita veggies, fresh tomato salsa, and guacamole).
