2. Eat frequently
Losing weight is easy science – you have to burn off more calories than you consume.
Portion control is a great way to limit the amount of calories you consume.
Bodybuilder Rich Gaspari explained to Bodybuilding.com: “When my goal is to shed fat, I make sure I eat 6-8 times per day and keep my portions small.
“The increased meal frequency is great for boosting metabolism.”
Lean proteins and healthy fats are recommended for posting metabolism.
3. Stay away from alcohol
This may not exactly be what you want to hear during the summer, but it can really help you slash belly fat.
Alcohol is full of empty calories and can increase your appetite which can cause you to gain weight.
In addition, drinking too much alcohol can cause you to be dehydrated, which can also make losing weight hard.
4. Avoid fast food and most processed food
Empty calorie foods have calories from sugar and/or fats but have no nutritional value.
These should be avoided in order to shed belly fat.
For example, try to stay away from refined foods like white flour and rice.
Also stay away from foods such as chips, cakes, pastries, donuts, pizza and hot dogs.
Opt for lean meats at barbecues, and add good fats to your diet such as avocados, almonds and olive oil.
