Mum who sought comfort in food sheds 2st in three months – here’s how
As Sheila struggled to cope with her loss, she sought comfort in food.
Binging on McDonald’s meals, takeaways and unhealthy snacks saw her weight increase to an unhealthy 15st.
The mum remembered: “When you are in a deep depression you don’t really think about what you are feeding yourself.
“You go into a state of despondency, you know these foods are bad for you but you don’t care.
“Sugary snacks give you a temporary high.”
When the Merseyside mum tried to turn her life around in 2011, she was dealt another tragic blow.
Months after getting her gastric band fitted, her fiancé passed away from a stomach aneurysm.
Sheila said: “We were on holiday and had got engaged two days before.
”’I can honestly say I have never been as happy as I am right now’ – those were the last words he said to me.
“When I woke up in the morning he was dead in bed.”
The two tragedies undoubtedly obstructed Sheila’s weight loss journey, but she finally kick-started her transformation last year.
After seeing unflattering bikini photos of herself, she decided enough was enough.
The mum signed up to the 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Loss plan and lost 2st in the first three months.
She swapped her fast food filled diet for protein-filled meals and low calorie snacks.
The super-slimmer now weighs in at just over 11st – and she looks incredible.
Sheila said: “I started thinking ‘you have one life, and you have to live it’.
“Losing weight really helped me focus and move forward.
“Just because you have lost someone and having the stress of having a child with a disability you have to look forward with these things.”
