The Rock Just Dropped His Most Versatile Workout Shoes
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of our absolute favorite figures to look to for workout inspo—but he’s more of a clanker and banger, as he might say of his weight room exploits, than a sprinter and slasher with running and agility drills when he hits the gym to train.
As such, the first three iterations of his signature Project Rock line of training shoes from Under Armour have been built to be more reliable for heavy lifting than conditioning. That changes now, with a brand new silhouette in the Project Rock lineup that comes as part of his latest drop, the Breaking Barriers collection.
The shoe, the Project Rock BSR, takes its name from yet another of The Rock’s training slogans: Blood.Sweat.Respect., a phrase you’ll find all over his gear and Iron Paradise gym setups.
The BSR shares a few features of the standard PR3, like UA’s full rubber Tribase outsole to help improve durability, but has a lower profile with no knit bootie, and a shorter midsole (composed of UA’s Charged Cushioning instead of the energy return HOVR material). The kicks will still serve as a solid base for your weight room routine, but you’ll likely find that the new design moves a bit better when you take to the gym floor or turf for ladder drills, short sprints, or whatever workout you can cook up. (For long runs though, you’ll probably want to switch your footwear. Check out these pairs of running shoes instead.)

Along with the new shoes, the collection includes a pair of slides you can slip on once the training time is over. Since they’re from The Rock, the sandals are suitably extra–the soles feature material from tire company Michelin, to help avoid any wet locker room floor mishaps.
Along with the new footwear, the collection also features a new neon PR3 colorway, along with apparel like tank tops, sweat pants, training masks, and more. Everything is available now from Under Armour.
