Inside Ryan Lochte's Nursery for Daughter on the Way — and How They're Preparing Son Caiden for Baby's Arrival
Baby Liv, your parents and big brother are ready for you!
In conjunction with Gugu Guru, Olympian Ryan Lochte and wife Kayla Rae Reid have designed the coziest nursery for their daughter on the way, sharing photos of the stunning space exclusively with PEOPLE.
“Gugu Guru helped us with our pregnancy with [son Caiden Zane, 22 months,] as well,” the couple tells PEOPLE. “They’re so great at recommending exact products you will need for your child based on your interests, along with answering any questions you may have along the way.”
The centerpiece of the room — which features pink mural wallpaper by Urbanwalls with white, cream, gold and beige accents throughout — is the Babyletto Jubilee 3-in-1 Convertible Metal Crib in Pink Chrome ($599), which the mom-to-be is a big fan of.
“There really isn’t a ‘theme,’ ” the couple tells PEOPLE, explaining, “Kayla has a huge passion for interior design so she was so excited to create this space for [Liv] that she envisioned. She knew she wanted pink mixed with neutrals.”

Ryan Lochte and Wife Kayla Rae Reid Reveal Sex of Baby on the Way
Reid, 27, tells PEOPLE her daughter’s sleep space “is now my favorite room” in the house and aside from the crib, she has a soft spot for the Sion Double Dresser ($1,799) and matching Sion Nightstand ($669) from Paynes Gray.
Other sweet touches throughout the nursery include a white armchair and matching ottoman, artistic prints, various stuffed animals (like an oversized giraffe next to the crib), books, plenty of storage baskets and a sign reading “LIV RAE LOCHTE” with her due month: June 2019.
Reid and the professional swimmer, 34, tell PEOPLE that they’re experiencing some “nerve-racking” feelings leading up to their baby girl’s arrival, but they couldn’t be more excited.
“We hope we can handle it!” they say. “When we first discussed having a family together, both of us dreamed of having a boy then a girl within a couple years of each other. We’ve been fortunate to have it happen!”
And luckily for Reid, her pregnancy has been “amazing” thus far despite being “sick at the beginning” of it.
“My pregnancy with Caiden was very difficult, so it’s been nice!” says the second-time mother-to-be. “This pregnancy has been flying by. We notice than Liv is a lot calmer then Caiden was.”

Liv’s name is one that the couple, who married last year, “always loved,” having chosen it even before they found out Caiden was a boy during Reid’s pregnancy with their first child.
Speaking of Caiden, he’s “starting to” understand he’s not going to be the only child in a couple of months — but Reid and Lochte are still prepared to handle some feelings of jealousy once his baby sister arrives.
“We say, ‘Where’s baby sister?’ or ‘Kiss baby’ and he will kiss Kayla’s belly. It’s sweet,” they tell PEOPLE. “He isn’t going to like sharing us, though, that’s for sure!”
