Watch These Bodybuilders Attempt Some of Jackie Chan’s Hardest Movie Workouts

YouTube’s Buff Dudes, aka bodybuilders Brandon and Hudson White, regularly attempt to recreate the training montages from famous action movies, having previously taken on the Siberian montage from Rocky IV, Ben Affleck’s grueling workout from Batman v Superman, and Michael B. Jordan’s Creed II sequence. In their latest video, the brothers and their dad, Duke, turn their attention to martial arts movie legend Jackie Chan, and try out several of the exercises depicted in some of the most iconic moments from his extensive film catalogue.

Water Crucifix

This core-torcher involves hanging from your feet upside down, filling two cups with water from a bucket on the ground, and then lifting your body up to deposit the water in buckets at the top. Brandon easily wins this first round with 10 reps—pretty impressive, considering he’s around 100 pounds heavier than Chan.

Crunch Battle

With their feet anchored together, the brothers then compete in a pushup-off, leading to some intense ab cramps. “It’s a huge, inspiring thing to go one-on-one in a crunch battle,” says Brandon. “It makes you push harder than you’ve ever pushed before.”

Land Surfing

Think of this as kind of like a sled pull, except instead of a weighted prowler, you’re pulling a human being who is standing upright on a pair of sacks attacked to ropes. As such, pulling off this move is as much about smooth, controlled motion as it is about brute strength.

“Those quads are on fire!” Says Hudson, who ends up winning this round. “That is really hard.”

Bucket Race

Each brother must two buckets of water, suspended from a bar over their shoulders, uphill as fast as possible without spilling any.

Hudson wins this round too, completing the race in 1:39 compared to Brandon who finishes with a time of 1:45. “That was a lot harder than I thought it’d be, actually,” says Brandon.

Dodgeball

Hudson and Brandon conclude their challenge with a game where Duke tests their agility and speed by attempting to pelt them with tennis balls.

“Jackie would have been proud,” Duke tells them after the challenge. And most importantly, unlike Chan himself, nobody broke any bones.
