Are you an exercise hater?
You’ll be pleased to know that it’s possible to slim down without hitting the gym.
As abs are made in the kitchen, losing belly fat can be as easy as tweaking your diet.
Nutrition expert Terri-Ann revealed the food swaps you should make if you want to beat bloating and look more toned.
Here are her top tips:
Four food swaps that will help you to burn belly fat, according to diet expert Terri-Ann Nunns:
Swap white bread for brown loaves
Wholegrain foods help you to feel fuller for longer, which should prevent you from over-eating during the day.
These products also prevent bloating as they kick-start the digestive system.
Terri Ann explains: “Fibre is vital to ensuring your digestive system is working as it should.
“The easiest change you can make to get more fibre in your diet is switching your usual carbohydrates to whole-wheat foods – think brown bread, wholegrain pasta and rice, as well as oats, barley and rye.”
Swap processed meat for protein-rich meals
If you’re looking to tone up, make sure you reduce your saturated salt intake.
Terri Ann said: “Processed meat such as bacon, sausages and ham are packed full of dietary fats.
“These are linked to inflammation and therefore excess stomach fat.”
Swapping these products for those that are rich in proteins helps the body to repair itself and build muscle.
Swap fizzy drinks for flavoured water
Fizzy drinks can cause stomach bloating.
Research has also shown that sugary sodas can make you crave unhealthy food.
Ditch these in favour of drinking plenty of water, which aids digestion and detoxes the body.
The nutritionist revealed: “Many studies have linked the consumption of fizzy drinks with a higher waist circumference – even diet versions!
“Try water flavoured with lemon, cucumber or mint instead.”
